How to cook Nigerian Jollof rice

Everybody loves party jollof rice, we all want to  get the Nigerian jollof rice taste. There is a feeling that comes with eating Nigeria jollof rice. Follow the process below to cook your own Nigerian Jollof rice.

Jollof rice

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of rice
  • 2-3 sachets of Tomato paste
  • Groundnuts oil
  • Fresh pepper(Tomato and Pepper blended)
  • Maggi cubes and Salt
  • Onions
  • Curry and Thyme
  • Chicken/ Meat or Fish
  • Vegetables:- Carrot, Tomato, Green peas e.t.c

Cooking Instructions

  1. Wash and slice your vegetables
  2. Make stew out of the tomato paste and blended pepper with sufficient quantity of Salt and maggi to taste(Remember you would still add stock)
  3. Pour your chicken/ meat stock and allow it to boil
  4. Pour your wased rice into te mixture
  5. Allow it to cook on low medium heat
  6. Once it is almost done, add your sliced vegetables and allow it steam for a while
  7. Once it is dry, turn the rice with turning stick to make the vegetables evenly distributed
  8. Serve with fried Chicken/Meat or Fish
