I just can't get work out of my mind aaaargh!!!

Can you get work off your mind?

Do you still put pressure on yourself to work during non working hours?

Do you get distracted about work when you are with loved ones?

Do you have time for personal growth?

If your work is taken from you, would you still be you?

Kindly ask yourself these questions, if your answer is No then you need to take a step back and restrategize. 

 

I just can't get work out of my mind aaaargh!!!

Taking work everywhere you go doesn't indicate PRODUCTIVITY, busyness is also not equal to PRODUCTIVITY. 

You need a balance, you need to have a life outside your work environment, you need to grow other aspects of your life even as you grow your career. 

You need to be able to enjoy life  outside work, you need to do other meaningful things aside work.

You need to be conscious and intentional about getting work of your mind when necessary.

How can i get work off my mind?

  1. Find what makes you happy
    You need to look for what makes you truly happy, what are the things you derive joy from. What are the things you enjoy doing. Make conscious efforts to do them when you are not at work.
    Be intentional about doing what makes you happy when you are not at work. Spend more time on what makes you fulfilled.

  2. Time management
    A lot of people take work with them due to lack of time management. Learn to plan your day properly and make sure you stick to the plan. If it is not necessary, don't do it.
    Work when you are supposed to work and play when you are supposed to.

  3.  Get help
    Learn to get help from colleagues and friends when you cant figure a task out. Don't spend too much time trying to figure out a task when you could easily get help. A problem shared is half solved.
    This would help you finish tasks faster, it would also foster your relationship with colleagues. It is a win-win.

  4. Do your best and leave the rest
    Have it at the back of your mind that you cant do it all. Learn to trust the work/input of others. Do your very best and let others do the rest.

  5. Set goals asides work
    Set other goals asides work, make sure you are committed to personal growth. If that job is taken away from you, what do yo worth. Please work on increasing your value outside work.You wont be at that place of work forever. Focus on developing yourself

Be gentle with yourself, these changes don't happen in a day. It is a gradual process. Stay happy and fulfilled.
